A new romantic comedy has Damilola Adegbite and Eku Edewor slugging it out in a tale of intrigues, love, betrayal and fiery passion.
The movie, Flower Girl, also stars theatre producer, Bikiya Graham-Douglas, as the fashion-freak Stella, a friend to a shy Kemi, (played by Adegbite) — a florist Kemi is literally ‘knocked down by love’ as she attempts to cross the main road while trying to pick a call from her boyfriend, Umar (played by Chris Attoh). The guy dumps her just minutes earlier.
Produced by African Movie Academy Award winner, Michelle Bello, the movie is full-length and tells the story of love lost and won in the city of Lagos. Kemi, in her eagerness to marry Umar, ends up putting him off completely. Consequently, Umar calls off the whole affair.
Adegbite pulled out of Tinsel, MNET’s soap opera, ostensibly to focus on this film, her first in Nigeria and second one internationally. Her first movie role is “Pebbles” in 6 hours to Christmas from award winning Ghanaian producer Shirley Frimpong-Manso.
Shot on location in Lagos, the movie, billed to premiere on the Valentine’s Day, addresses the dilemmas of young women who are in a hurry to get married, thinking only about their prefect wedding day and not the long term commitment required by both individuals to make it last.
Actually it is premiering today! You can always go and see it tomorrow @ the cinemas. I think it is a good film from the trailer so i will be on my way to see it tomorrow. who is with me?
