A MILE FROM HOME REVIEW (2013)

Hello My Darlings,

I have a declaration to make if you are a movie maker in this country and you want to shoot an action sequence in you movie you HAVE TO consult with Eric Aghimien. He has taken action to new heights (if u disagree with me you are just a hater). A mile from home has many positives and negatives as well, you know me I love the negatives first, I think the script was a bit too dramatic for the setting or plot of the movie. The conversations were not encouraging at all, the sharp cuts in edit did not do the movie any favours. The first half of the movie i was confused I wasn't sure what was happening, conversations were referring to different events that I hadn't seen yet or more like i never saw. The female characters in his movie although I know they were in a supporting capacity i think they were less than ideal for the parts they were playing.
Enough gloom now to the good stuff the male characters in this movie I give big ups to people like Tope Tedela (he's character name was Jude/Lala), Mr alex ayalor was very good in their roles but to me the most outstanding character "SUKU" was played by Chiedozie Nzeribe who nailed his character nicely I actually believe he could do all the things he did in the movie. Let me come to the highlight of this movie....THE ACTION SEQUENCES menh! you haven't seen any naija movie that has made this kind of effort. Eric did his research well, he concentrated on these parts well am guessing it affected the rest of the movie. The blood spatter, the gun shot sounds, the guns themselves look quite real.
I will recommend the movie if you are into action, blood, shoot outs and those types of things if not this movie isn't for you.

Just an observation: Why do the characters cork their gun then put back in their waist band? cos what I know from guns if they are not in safety the tend to go off #justsaying #runningaway

Synopsis:
A University student, Jude, gets into a notorious gang 'The Cul' in order to get revenge against Stone, a notorious gangster who forcefully dispossesses him of his precious watch (a gift from his father when he turned eighteen).
He decided to hop out as soon as he realised his mistake but too late.
He became the favourite of Suku, the leader of the gang, who gives him the number two position in the gang, making it more impossible for him to make any exit move.
Suku is willing to share anything with Jude but his girl, Ivie, a rich hot girl on Campus. Suku introduced him into drug dealing and he earned a new name, Lala. He left his old life behind for a path he is not proud of, a path where there is no going back.
