TOKE MAKINWA

Was  born on the 3rd November 1984 from Idanre, Ondo State. She comes from a large family, she studied English Literature at the University of Lagos. As she always says, "I am just a girl next door, unpredictable, a lover of life and I am very passionate about God".
She is an onair personality in Rhythm 93.7fm co-hosts the morning drive, television host and vlogger.

In an interview with punch online this is what she said:
"A pretty girl or a handsome guy can sell any show on television. People don’t necessarily have to listen to what you have to say. Instead, they can like your hairstyle, colour of your shirt or even your shoes. With radio, it is a hit or miss. You are not even permitted to have a bad day regardless of what is going on in your life. Even if you were jilted at the altar the day before, you turn on the microphone and have your show."

Toke started a Vlog  a while back which has a huge following at the moment, where she talks about apparently everything. She got married to Maje Ayads in 2014
I must say that she is very fashionable.

She is not an actress but she is our personality which is why she made of crush of the week.

                                                  CHIKA IKE's DRAMA DIVAS

Hey my Darlings,

I have officially rebranded this franchise to DRAMA DIVAS, you I said before that I thought this was a knock off of tyra's ANTM well i was totally right! Oh my God so much drama. See the sad part of the drama they are so unnecessary!!! I do not know who edited this job sha I weak for your mata. Ok, the girls did a task where they went to market, then... i have no clue what the point was. They was no achievement to that. There was nothing to show how that went, all i know is that "it was a very exciting thing to do", "i bought garri which another team was supposed to buy then i had to return it" ehe, so what now?

Chika herself oh! Overly dramatic, she is truely an AFRICAN DIVA only i rather call her a DRAMA QUEEN. She needs to reduce the drama sha.

On a seperate mata i actually still like the african twist to it, just think the need a better producer or director not sure. The need a better who ever that makes the final cut.

On this note I am starting a new scoring system, I will be scoring everything  over 10.

This episode I give   4/10

                                                CHIKA IKE'S AFRICAN DIVA
Hello people,
I came across this series on my many internet searches, I must say the concept of the show is amazing, tho it could be seen as a version of Tyra Banks' ANTM, it does not matter. I love the dramatic outfit she is wearing very Queen of Muzanga (LoL i don't know if thats a place I just made that up). Her choice of girls are very good as well since they look like a crazy bunch which makes good TV. My own problem with this is that the pilot is way too long since you have to stream online( that is a lot of data menh). Many parts we could have done without, find the drama, move on quickly that's my advise. Something else these guys tho their stomach speaks volumes please what happen to six packs dudes let finish the whole package now no be like that. The sound should also be looked at closely.

The basic idea is twenty-two (22) girls are put in a mansion in a quest to be the next "African Diva" the prizes are cash not sure if they said one million or four million naira, one year acting contract with CIP production and one year supply of accessories from Fancy Nancy... Good prizes I must say.

On that note if you have data to spare watch the pilot episode below:

Enjoy!

ADESUA ETOMI WEEKLY CRUSH!

Hey Darlings,

Okay, so we are doing horror today but first if all, be informed that am not the kind of woman that would pay to be tortured by a movie. Plus this isn't the cliche willy willy,wishy-washy kind of horror we are used to. This is a feel-good kinda horror(if There's anything like that..LOL)

The Duplex is a thriller/horror that focuses on the lives of a young couple and their ordeal after the man buys a house against his wifes will. It stars Mike Ezuruonye, Omoni Oboli, Uru Eke, Maureen Okpoko amongst others. It was produced by Emmanuel Isikaku, directed by Ikechukwu Onyeka. This movie will make you laugh, grin, scream, vex and maybe shed a tear or two(if you're that emotional about movies like I am).

The story was great, acting was on point, Mike ezuruonye brought his A-game as always, Omoni Oboli too. The make up and special effects used in this movie was amazing. I mean, that ghost was damn nasty. I also loved how the writer plotted the story, the suspence was intense because it was well fed. But then, the climax was a miss for me. Infact, that was an anti climax. Like, how do you go from all that good stuff to that end??(confused much??) I don't know , maybe y'all should go see it and get back to me on that because I don't really get it.

Anyways, I would say a big thank you to the team that made this movie happen because it broke my phobia for horror movies, I think my appetite for it is getting big. Splendid movie, you should see it. Thank me later..

THE DUPLE MOVIE REVIEW (2015)

Hey Darlings,

Hope y'all are doing well..Am here again with 'Black Silhouette'; a movie that tells a story of a woman with political intentions who decides to come clean about her past choices, trials and decisions to a renowned biographer who she contracted to write her memoir. It stars Joke Silva, Ivie Okujaye, Femi Jacobs, Ik Osikioduwa, Jude Orhorha, Chigozie Atuanya and a lot more.

Now, am going to be precise and brief: I don't know if the movie ended in the part I watched or maybe it didn't. Because if indeed it has ended, then am suposed to atleast get something from it, right? Truth is, I didn't. The story just kept going and then it stopped and the end credits started rolling up. I mean, the technical part was great: acting, lighting, sound, costume, make up and all. I also know that a movie should have a beginning, a middle and an end. A movie, should either entertain or educate or do both.. In this case, am yet to classify this movie into any category. I strongly think that the story wasn't thoroughly thought through. I mean, its like a lot of things happening at once and at the end, nothing happens. That's exactly how I felt seeing this movie. Y'all should go see it and tell me what you think because am all talked out here..

But hey, on a lighter note: great attempt, plenty room for improvement. Just keep going. I mean, without you guys, I literally wouldn't have a job..so thank you.

Am just saying, no hard feelings, just tough love..*winks*

It is no more in the cinemas but it will soon be on DVD watch out for it

BLACK SILHOUETTE MOVIE REVIEW (2015)

,

Hey darlings,
Been a while, I apologize for my avoidable absence, had a lot on my plate. But the good news is that am back, bigger and better.    So today, we will be looking at 'In the music'; a drama about 2 sisters with a rather painful background in search of greener pastures, although the story dealt with one sister at a time. This movie was produced by Oluchi Afurobi and directed by Chibuzo Afuruobi, was shot in Lagos, Nigeria.
I dare say, that 'new hollywood' film makers are breaking new grounds. They have moved from regular conventional stories to more challenging stuff. Am saying this because this movie is one of them. As the name implies, its almost a musical(you will understand why I used 'almost' later). I strongly commend the Raising Phoenix team for taking on such a challenging project. Also, the parade of stars such as Omawunmi magbele, Bryan Okwara, Beverly Naya, Tomi Odunsi, Keira Hewatch, Chelsea Eze and a lot more was brilliant, brought a lot of glitz and glamour into the picture. The dance choreography too was cool..
On the low now,the sound production on this movie was down right annoying, it is a HELL NO!! Environmental interference was a lot and that was very distracting to say the least..even in a cinema that is awfully loud. Graphics were average, very little effort was made towards make up. It was almost as if it didn't matter how the actors appeared as long as they get their work done. For instance, keira Hewatch had an oily face almost throughout the movie, plus that hair on her...Arrrgh,story for another day. I also thought the acting lacked depth; character, mood, intensity(CMI)was M.I.A. To top it all,the songs. I mean, the essential ingredient in every musical is the music. This movie didn't score any memorable track for me, the songs were mediocre and as such didn't have that X-factor, that expunged a lot of essence for me(that's why I said almost a musical).
With all being said and done, its a very good and daring start considering its the debut film for the owners in the cinema. With this edginess, they will be flying soon.

Apparently its no more in the cinemas.... But wait for DVD and Online.
