Hello My people,

OK, life kinda happened so that's why you haven't gotten the inside scoop on MAPS the movie. Well I must say they did a good job. The plot was ok, I loved some elements of the movie. The tackle by Keira Hewatch was memorable, u cant forget it, the hacker was quite believable I loved the character. Chelsea Eze kudos my dear nice acting on the dead girl part it was an amazing job. Keira hewatch played Officer Halima (she played it so well that I remember the character name) good acting very believable.

Producer and Director of the film great job una try well o. The only thing I can say that I really didn't like was the fact that the beginning was a bit slow and they where too many unanswered questions.

It was really fun to watch tho. Go to the cinemas either Genesis deluxe cinema or Silverbird you wouldn't be sorry.

Review On MURDER AT PRIME SUITES

Hello my darlings, this movie is a beautifully shot movie which actually gives me consolation that our industry is actually getting better, it is shot in an american style with Nigerian content ( I only saw trailer oh). Will be heading to the premiere on friday. In short... will give you the full gist plus pictures (muahahhahahah)

Murder at Prime Suites is an investigative thriller about betrayal, murder, lies, greed and lust. Agents Ted (Joseph Benjamin) and Hauwa (Keira Hewatch) battle to unravel the mysteries behind the murder of a young girl, Florence Ngwu, in an upscale hotel. What seemed like an open and close case soon turned into a battle of wits and backstabbing.

The Movie, which is directed by Eneaji Chris Eneng and produced by Jumafor Ajogwu, features the likes of Joseph Benjamin, Keira Hewatch, Chelsea Eze, and OkeyUzoeshi, and it is set to premier on the 30th of August, 2013. It promises to be a captivating and suspense-filled film.

Here is the trailer I watched tell me what you think:

Take a good look at this poster... what do you see? Another "Nollywood movie" abi? I thought the same when I drove past the street seller hawking it yesterday. I usually buy Nigeria movie especially the new ones to have a good laugh with my friends. Yesterday I did the same I wanted to buy a particular Nigeria movie that just came out ( will not write the name of the film since I will not be writing a review about it, my mum told me if you have nothing nice to say, keep your mouth shut... I will give you a hint tho it is one of the most talked about Nigeria movies to hit the market of recent). Back to my story: anyway I bought "the movie" I went to buy, then the guy showed me Desperate Housegirls. I laughed and thought to myself 'these naija people have come again', but I bought it anyway.

I got home called all my peeps together and trust me when I call, you better answer (sowie peeps) we started the journey of the desperate house girls... This movie is Legendary (stolen phrase from a friend) I loved every moment of it. The beauty is, apart from Ini, Desmond and of course Kenneth (who I have a little crush on BTW) every other character was relatively an UNKNOWN face. They acted so well that a friend of mine could not resist shouting at the TV "DON'T STEAL ITS A TRAP!"

I will love to commend the script writer (if you see this please email me on thesourceboard@gmail.com we have to talk business), I commend the director +Desmond Elliot  for creating the visual story that made an awesome script real, I salute the producer Uduak Isong who made all these come to pass I am official a Fan! Also to all the actors and actresses in this movie Mary Lazarus, Tamara Eteimo, Ini Edo to name a few you guys are amazing kudos to the great work.

OK! I have officially lost it. All these plenty praise? If you doubt me... GRAB YOUR COPY NOW! (LOL)

A couple of months ago I had a post about Lekki wives, well I finally got around watching it on DVD... ( I must say if you haven't gotten your copy you are sleeping on toothpick)

The series: although I was not very sure on what to expect I assumed it will be a Nigeria's lame attempt at the real house wives franchise, I was sooooooo wrong. It was a clever take on the so called "BIG girls" in LEKKI! The effort was amazing, a lot of thought went into the concept. A big kudos to Blessing Egbe( Well done!)

If you have not seen it ( I will be very nollywood) Gab your copy now!!!

My Favorite character was UJU who is yours?

DARK SIDE:

This is an example of the nigerian movie market changing directions for the better, I am really proud of what we are doing these days.

Written by Tijani Balogun , produced and directed by Bayo Alawiye, it is starring people like Joseph Benjamine, Uru eke and some other brilliant cast.

Synopsis – Dark Side
Before Sir Richard Awala passed on, he made sure Bankole, his only child got married to his one-time best friend’s daughter, Deola. Without a trace of love, they walk down the aisle. An accident, however, leaves Bankole Awala blind, and Deola gets constantly irritated by the situation. Apart from the burden of now living with a blind man she doesn’t love, Deola has a secret of her own – Kayode, Bankole’s best friend, is her lover.
In one of their raunchy moments, Sheila – a disgruntled ex-employee – reappears to claim certain entitlements from her former boss only to find his wife and his best friend in an entanglement of lust. In a quick twist of fate, the three of them become allies. They now plot to murder Bankole. The plan is to make it look like natural death. Kayode is apprehensive, Deola is eager, and Sheila cannot wait to lay her hands on the kind of money she’d only dreamed of – over two hundred billion naira cash deposit in Bankole’s account and a multi-billion naira gas kingdom of the Awalas!

Dark side will be hitting the cinema sometime this may, I hope I get to see it and write a review.

WEEKEND GETAWAY is a Royal Arts Academy movie produced by Emem Isong and Ini Edo and directed by Desmond Elliot starring all of Nollywood’s best: Genevieve Nnaji, Ramsey Noah, Ini Edo, Monalisa Chinda, Ime Bishop Umoh, Bryan Okwara, Uti Nwachukwu, Alexx Ekubo, Bobby Obodo, Beverly Naya, and Uru Eke.

I am a bit worried and excited about this movie because there are so many celebrities on the cast. Very good ones, new ones, older one(in the industry i mean). It is terrifying and intriguing at the same time. It can go horribly wrong or really right! I find it impressive tho. Cant wait to see it to be able to judge.

what do you think? let me know after you watch the trailer

I came across this on one of my numerous trolls of the internet for whats new in the movie world, well it is Yvonne Nelsons third movie debut. This movie has an amazing cast of both Nigeria and Ghanians which where put together beautifully (somebody did their homework well). The stars in this movie include Yvonne Nelson (of course ghana), Majid Michel (just figured how to spell his name, correct me if am wrong (ghana)), Ice prince (good to see musicians crossing over Nigeria), Omawumi (sensational Nigeria) and a host of other brilliant people. It was directed by Pascal Amanfo.

Synopsis
Too Much…For Too Many….
Dab Ansah Williams, a high flying entrepreneur/business mogul, polygamist and socialite, is battling with cancer and has 6 weeks left to live according to medical practitioners. With the help of his long time associate and legal representative, he embarks on a mission to call all his children back home – most of whom were born out of wedlock and various illicit affairs.
The re-union proves a little more than everyone bargained for as each child returns with an agenda, setting the stage for the most hilarious and bizarre 7 days of their lives. At the end, they realize that there is just too much for too many.

It is set to premiere next month, date not yet known.
Will keep you posted(if you still believe me (laughs))

A new romantic comedy has Damilola Adegbite and Eku Edewor slugging it out in a tale of intrigues, love, betrayal and fiery passion.
The movie,  Flower Girl,  also stars  theatre producer, Bikiya Graham-Douglas,  as the fashion-freak Stella, a  friend  to  a shy Kemi, (played by Adegbite) —  a florist Kemi is literally ‘knocked down by love’  as she attempts to cross the main road while trying to  pick a call from her  boyfriend, Umar (played by Chris Attoh). The guy dumps her  just minutes earlier.

Produced by   African Movie Academy Award winner, Michelle Bello, the movie is full-length and tells the story of love lost and won in the city of Lagos. Kemi, in her eagerness to marry Umar, ends up putting him off completely. Consequently, Umar calls off the whole affair.
Adegbite pulled out of Tinsel, MNET’s soap opera, ostensibly to focus on this film, her first in Nigeria and second one internationally.  Her first  movie role is “Pebbles” in   6 hours to Christmas from award winning Ghanaian producer Shirley Frimpong-Manso.
Shot on location in Lagos, the movie, billed to premiere on the Valentine’s Day, addresses the dilemmas of young women who are in a hurry to get married, thinking only about their prefect wedding day and not the long term commitment required by both individuals to make it last.

Actually it is premiering today! You can always go and see it tomorrow @ the cinemas. I think it is a good film from the trailer so i will be on my way to see it tomorrow. who is with me?

It is a romantic comedy set in Abuja following the trials of Lagos-based corporate executive Makinde Esho who finds himself at the mercy of political patronage, bureaucratic red tape and Cupid’s arrow while in hot pursuit of a ‘meeting’ to secure government contract.

 DOCTOR BELLO:

This seems to be the film that is making waves right now in the Nollywood world, I think the reason is that it has Hollywood stars in it too. It seems to be the new trend now (adding Hollywood stars in Nollywood films). According to all that I have read and seen about this film it was partly funded with the 200,000 abi Million USD promised by our President to the entertainment industry.(Finally it has been put to use whew!). The director is Tony Abulu, he has done a couple of films in the US (which is big, I guess that's why he is getting the funding). The film has people like Isaiah Washington, Vivica Fox, our own Genevive Nnanji, Stephanie Okereke and many more.

According to their website this is the synopsis:
Brilliant cancer specialist Dr. Michael Durant is emotionally troubled, wrestling with the traumatic loss of his 10 year old daughter from Cancer. Immersing himself in his work in the hospital, away from his wife who blames him for their child’s death, he forms an unlikely bond with a sick, loving, but rambunctious seven year old boy Sam, the son of a rich Jewish couple who are major contributors to the Hospital’s Cancer Research Fund.
Unfortunately, Sam’s health deteriorates drastically, and soon, he slips into a coma, with only a few days to live. Dr. Durant becomes desperate, willing to risk anything to save the child’s life. A surreptitious Nigerian Nurse convinces him to seek the help of Dr. Bello, an uncertified Nigerian Doctor, known in the Brooklyn-African underground as a miracle worker. Dr. Bello, an introvert with a controversial past, secretly visits the child at night and administers a strange African potion, replete with incantations and by the next morning, miraculously, the child begins to recover, the Cancer speeding into remission.
The Hospital Medical Board immediately orders an investigation and soon the secret is revealed and Dr. Durant is suspended. Dr. Bello is arrested and charged with medical malpractice. Dr. Durant soon falls into depression after his wife leaves him. Meanwhile, Dr. Bello has fallen critically ill in jail and can only be saved by the ingestion of the same potion that can only be found in the mysterious “Garden of Life,” nestled on the peak of Nigeria’s sky mountains.

I heard the Director talk about the film on the radio and he seems to think it is a must watch. I haven't seen it yet, will go see it and let you know what I think.

If you have seen it please drop a line here so we can know.

Hey everyone,
Welcome to THE SOURCE BOARD, this is a blog for film makers in Nigeria. When I say film makers am not just talking about the Producers, Directors or Actors I'm talking about everybody involved in the film making process, these include Script Writers, Sound Engineers, Camera Operators, Lightning people, Production Mangers, Makeup, Stylist, Publicists etc. The idea is to create a place that will enable people get in contact with each other without jumping through all the hurdles. If you are a script writer for instance, you could send the synopsis of your story to us and a little profile of yourself, we will then put it up for everyone to see. People can make comments on you profile and also get in contact with you, guess what? It is absolutely free, no cost at all. This goes for every other line of work just send us a short profile and work you have done and we will put you out there ( little clause though, you have to be good at you job if not we wouldn't post your profile).

Other things you will be seeing on our blog is Audition Notices ( we will try and get as many as we possibly can), if you have any you can also send it our way. Movies to look out for (Nigeria and foreign as well), and Actors/Actresses to look out for too .

Stay with us and you will learn more...
Thank you
